Adding Content

Content is a file you upload, or a link to a file hosted somewhere else. Add it to your library, then link it to the products or orders that should deliver it. You can also add content straight from a product, or while editing an order. It's added to your library and linked there in one step.

Files

Upload almost any file type, including installers (.exe, .dmg, .pkg), disk images, archives (.zip, .rar, .7z), documents, ebooks, audio and video.

  • Large files are fine. Big uploads are sent in parts. Keep the page open until the upload finishes. If an upload fails, or you leave part-way, the partial file is cleaned up so it doesn't count toward your storage.
  • Files count toward your storage, and every download toward your bandwidth. See Content Analytics.

A link points to a file you host somewhere else, such as a cloud drive or your own server. Links don't use any storage or bandwidth in the app.

  • Make sure the link works for anyone who has it, without signing in. When a customer downloads it, the app sends them straight to that address.
  • Add the file's size, if you know it. The app can't measure files it doesn't host. With a size, customers see it next to the download, and it's included in the total for products with several downloads.

Name vs Display Name

FieldWho sees it
NameOnly you and your staff. It identifies the content throughout the app, so make it specific, such as "Photo Pack v2.1 (Windows)".
Display NameYour customers, on their order status page. Keep it friendly, such as "Photo Pack for Windows". Additionally, the downloaded files on the customers device will use the display name.
