Auto Sync Inventory

Default: Off

Auto Sync Inventory keeps each Download & License product's inventory in Shopify equal to the number of keys left in its pool. When the pool runs dry, Shopify shows the product as out of stock, so you don't take orders you can't deliver.

You can also turn it on or off for a single product. See Product Settings.

When it syncs

  • Every day, for all your products.
  • Whenever you add or delete license keys.
  • Whenever keys are assigned, returned or restocked.

Choosing a location

Shopify tracks inventory per location, so the app needs to know which one to update.

  • Store location. Used for every product that doesn't set its own. Pick one that works for all your products.
  • Product location. Set on a product, for products stocked somewhere else.
  • Not set. The app uses the first location Shopify lists for the product.

If no single location works for all your products, set each product's location before choosing a store-wide one.

Making sure Shopify stops selling

Auto Sync sets the quantity, but Shopify decides whether to sell at zero. For each Download & License product in Shopify:

  • turn on Track quantity, and
  • turn off Continue selling when out of stock.

Syncing now

To sync inventory straight away, use Manual Sync on the Products page, or on a single product. Disabling a product can also set its inventory to zero, and enabling it sets it back to the number of available keys.
