Enabling and Disabling

Every product variant has an Active Status — Enabled or Disabled — that controls whether the app continues to grant new customers access to it. You can toggle it from the products page table (bulk action), or a variant's page.

What it does

  • Prevents future access: once a variant is disabled, new orders for it will no longer be provisioned with a license key or downloadable content.
  • Sync Shopify inventory - Licensed Products: when disabling a licensed variant, you can choose to also update Shopify inventory. This sets the Shopify inventory quantity to zero, which stops new purchases through Shopify's native checkout. Re-enabling restores the quantity to match your available license keys.

What it does NOT do

  • Does not revoke access already granted: if a customer already has an order containing this variant, disabling it afterward has no effect on that customer — they can still view/reveal license keys and download their content as before.
    • To disabled access for a customer who already purchased, use Revoke Access on their specific order or line item.
  • Download only variants are not synced: download only variant types don't have a 1:1 relationship between keys and shopify inventory, so disabling does not change its Shopify inventory. It can still be purchased through Shopify's checkout even while disabled in the app.

Where to toggle it

  • Products Table: select one or more products and choose "Enable/Disable Products" from bulk actions.
  • Variant page: use "Enable/Disable Product" or "Enable/Disable Variant" from Product Actions.
